When AC supply connects at Input connector, the Transformer Steps down the input Voltage 220- or 230 volt to 30VAC as it is Step-Down Transformer. The current flows through the Bridge Rectifier (consisting of four diodes of 3A for the conversion of AC to DC). Then the current flows to capacitors C1 and C2, here i am using C2 to filter the noise signal in DC voltage, after that the DC voltage goes to the Regulator IC LM7815. Another Diode 1N4001 (D1)is used to Block the feedback signal or Current to the Regulator IC since the IC becomes hot during the process and a suitable heat-sink is required to connect for Heat Dissipation. Another capacitor is used to further smooth and clean the noise in DC output voltage and finally, we are getting an output of 15VDC at output Connector.
- The main application is the conversion of AC to DC.
- You can use in operational amplifiers.
- It can also be used for Audio buffering or mixing.
- Widely used in toys for DC motors.
